What
is JUST
TALK?
JUST
TALK! is a high-beginner / low-intermediate level
conversation course designed exclusively for Japanese
students. The course can be used with teenagers or adults,
and is suitable for both large or small classes. A Teacher's
Guide and audio component are available
separately.
What
kind of syllabus does JUST
TALK
have?
JUST
TALK! has a multi-syllabus approach. Each interactive,
task-based unit has a focus on grammar, topic, or function.
The ultimate goal of the course is to improve students'
English by engaging them in enjoyable, communicative
tasks.
What
are the major features of the course?
- JUST
TALK! presents an enjoyable and interesting way to
learn English through practice rather than through
study.
- JUST
TALK! is designed for Japanese students in all
aspects. The majority of conversation courses claiming to
be designed for the Japanese market are, in fact, aimed
at a larger Asian/world market. JUST TALK! meets
the needs of Japanese students better because it focuses
on a specific population.
- Translations
of key vocabulary are given in a unit by unit format at
the back of the Student's Book. Roman characters are used
for the Japanese so that non-Japanese teachers can access
the vocabulary as well.
- Each
unit includes an unrehearsed, semi-scripted recording
done by a variety of native speakers who are not actors.
- The
Teacher's Guide includes tapescripts of the recordings,
translations of key words and expressions, and answer
keys.
- JUST
TALK! is both user and teacher-friendly. The book is
extremely easy to use and requires very little teacher
preparation.
